The last trip we made out here was in 2013 on our way home from Burning Man. We camped back then right outside the gates of the Park in Whites City; the stars were unbelievably clear and bright out there in that dark area, but we didn’t feel too safe in that particular campground to remain up on our roof skygazing for too long. Surprisingly, nine years later, the vibe was exactly the same, and for that reason we felt relieved to have chosen the “Carlsbad RV Park and Campground” this time around. It’s 20-30 minutes away from the Park, but it’s right on the direct route, its gated, and the skies were just as bright and twinkly here.

Today we arrived in Cave City, KY for 3 nights. Mammoth Cave National Park is the force behind the magnet. So so much to do here in the Park, but in particular is the actual underground cave system. Beyond their wonder, there’s a special fondness Jim and I have for caves. We chose to get married underground in Florida Caverns State Park located in Marianna FL It was a very intimate ceremony with just family; Bride and Groom, Cindy’s parents (with GrandJim officiating), our Children, and Billy the Tour Guide. I knew our sense of adventure for exploring the wonders of the world started back on that wedding day. And we continue on to this day! For tomorrow we tour the spectacular Mammoth Cave.
PEACE, LOVE, ADVENTURE, and CAVES!
