Forks, Washington. Famous for the “Twilight” movies.

Arrived in time to take a drive over to La Push to soak in the spectacular scenery near Rialto Beach, and First Beach, Second beach at sunset.

Western Olympic Peninsula is paradise. Pristine lands, still peacefully underdeveloped (and always will be due to the Quinault Indian Reservation and National Forest lands). Very little cell reception and other services, yet I’d not want it any other way.

Jam-packed daily adventures has produced 500+ pics to sort through (and eventually share in albums once we return to cell/wi-fi availability).
Over the past six days:
* Hoh Rainforest
* Sol Duc Hot Springs in the Olympic Natl Park (106 degrees of soaking goodness).
* John’s Beachcombing Museum – extremely interesting place. This guy has devoted 47 years to discovering all kinds of things washed ashore, including many items from the 2011 Japanese Tsunami (Check out the movie on Amazon prime called “Lost and Found”. )
* Drove the 31- mile Rainforest Loop (much is unpaved gravel and one lane including bridges!) and visited gorgeous ‘Jurassic Park’ waterfalls.
* A Beach Day! We did Beach 4 ( at the height of low tide), Beach 3 and Beach 1. Had so much fun discovering Starfish and Sea Anemones in the tidal pools.
* today was all about Lake Quinault. The historic Quinault Lodge set you in a scene straight from the 1920’s. This was a happening place back in the day with a floating dancehall. Then hiked several trails alongside the lake, and saw three more spectacular waterfalls on hikes inland into the Quinault Rainforest.
