FAQs
Answers to all your questions
Q1. Do you have a homebase?
Our home is literally the RV. Up until the end of March 2022, we lived in a house in Columbus, Georgia. Our legal domicile of residence will become the state of Florida, where we will be securing a Storage Unit and establishing a P.O. Box address in order to register to vote, receive snail mail, etc. Sometime in the future (TBD), we eventually will move back into a ‘sticks and bricks’ house, but when that will be is anybody’s guess at this point. We plan to travel for at least a year, maybe even 2-5, who knows.
Q2. What’s your Camping Style?
Just like our musical taste, we are eclectic and like to mix it up. We’ve experienced the whole range of styles. During the 2022 route, we will be doing every single kind listed below:
- Glamping at Luxurious RV Resorts – places offering many fancy amenities, but of course at a price! Fort Wilderness at Disney is one that is on our bucket list.
- Mom and Pop small-biz owned Campgrounds – Full-hookups are great (offering water, electricity, and sewer connections right to the RV at the site.)
- Public Lands: National Parks, State Parks, Army COE (Corps of Engineers) parks, County and City parks, and BLM lands.
- “Mooch”docking – thanks to generous friends and family with big spaces, we will be staying in several driveways, pole barns, and pastures.
- Boondocking – fully self-contained and reliant upon the rig’s provisions of water and generator. We do this for short overnight pit-stops at Rest Areas and Walmart parking lots, as well as for longer relaxing stays in remote areas on BLM (Bureau of Land Management) lands. Another option we utilize are locations via Harvest Hosts, which are museums, wineries, breweries, operating farms that allow you to camp overnight in exchange for patronizing their business.
Q3. What’s your rig set-up?
Our Motorhome is a 2006 Winnebago Adventurer 35A (36 feet), powered by a Ford 6.8 L V10 gasoline engine.
Our tow-behind vehicle is a 2011 Ford Fiesta, flat towed.
