Our Story
Jim and Cindy met each other as fellow IT colleagues at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Jim operated the Unisys mainframe, while Cindy programmed the software. They dated briefly, but it just wasn’t meant to be at that time in life to deepen their relationship. Both went on to marry others and have children (Cindy has three, Jim has one), moved away to other cities and experienced life in different lanes for the next 20 years. However, being in the same professional circles and friend networks, they remained in touch throughout the years, and found that life unfolded in a way to ultimately provide a second chance. Their relationship blossomed, and they were married in 2008. The wedding was a very special intimate setting in Marianna Caverns State Park, with just Cindy’s parents (“Grand”-Jim officiated the ceremony), their four children, the photographer, and Billy the tour guide, who lead the way with flashlights. It was the perfect beginning to an adventurous life together and it’s been non-stop ever since.
